escapades of a local sightseer #4: Thieves Market, Sungei Road

Sometimes, I find myself checking out old-beaten up knick-knacks in Theives Market, the only flea market here in S'pore which offers the usual flea stuffs if you get what I mean. Nothing fancy can be found here, but rather, the usual old men's hoarded treasures; from old synthetic leather shoes and stiff acid washed jeans to classic raybans and wrist-watches claimed antiquely genuine. From chinese jades and old local currency notes/coins to analogue and digital spoils, most of the time exposed to the harsh equatorial weather of the lion city.

  1. Oh wow. This looks like a very fun place!
There aren't any flea markets around my area, so this would be a real treat for me!
And I'm sure I could find many little treasures at this place.

    1. Oh? I've always thought that there're much more flea markets out there especially in your region hehe.
Unfortunately, it's half the fun now. Half of the flea market space is now under construction for some corporate stuff. Think it won't be long ti'll the whole space gets taken away.

  2. I have been meaning to go there, but I keep forgetting to go. I like the look of that typewriter. All I have is the Salvation Army, and they mark up their prices ridiculously high.
